C&I CONFERENCE 2026
Africa’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) power market is rapidly expanding as industries seek reliable, cost-effective, and clean energy solutions. In Kenya alone, over 600 MW of C&I capacity had been installed by 2025, with projections set to exceed 1 GW by 2030 — reflecting a broader continental shift toward energy resilience and sustainability.
Following the 2025 focus on reliability through solar PV, battery storage, and hybrid systems, the 2026 ESAK C&I Conference & Exhibition broadens the conversation. Under the theme “Powering Industries in Africa through C&I,” the conference positions C&I solutions as catalysts for industrial growth, competitiveness, and green development across Africa. Join industry leaders, policymakers, financiers, and innovators as we explore how C&I can power the continent’s industrial future.
Focus Areas
- C&I as a regional driver of industrial growth in Africa
- Knowledge-sharing - case studies
- Innovative financing models to scale C&I projects
- Enabling policies and industrial energy efficiency frameworks
- Local manufacturing of renewable energy and storage technologies
- Sector alignment & collaboration
2025 ESAK C&I Conference
Kenya’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector has experienced a rapid transformation, driven mainly by the increasing demand for reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly energy solutions. The first edition of the C&I Conference was held in March 2024 under the theme -‘Accelerating C&I Installations for Sustainability’.
The 2025 edition themed “Driving Reliability through C&I” will delve into the changes we’ve seen in Kenya’s policy framework such as the Net-Meeting regulations, increased uptake of C&I solutions with installation projections set at 600MW by 2028 as well as tailored finance solutions. As at 2024, the installed C&I capacity stood at 450MW according to EPRA. This can be attributed to factors such as technological advancement, reduced cost, reliability, and a push for emission reduction among others.
The two-day conference and exhibition by the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK) and partners is designed to be a meeting point for technology users, project developers, policy makers, energy utilities in generation, transmission and distribution in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector.
The event will bring together the latest technologies in the C&I space, investment portfolios for financing and benchmark case studies showing best practices on policy and regulations across Africa and how to make the sector investor-friendly while promoting sustainable local growth.
